Hitting the Road

Berks & Patagonias packed, the trio hit the road early Saturday morning.

LeRoy's Bagels

First things first, we properly fueled up with some Leroy’s Bagels and SloHi Coffee.

We then kicked off the first day of the drive with a beautiful 9 hour trip through Vail, Grand Junction, and the beginning of Utah driving along the 70.

It was an incredible drive and began the much anticipated #viewsfromthebackseatseries UT edition.

Once in Utah, we stopped at Red Cliff Lodge for sunset over the Colorado River.

This is John Wayne country, everything looked straight out of a painting.

Winding through those back highways at sunset was absolutely stunning.

Moab

Despite a brief scare of almost running out of gas along Johnson Valley with no service and an unexpected empty cabin with no bedding, the first day went relatively smoothly.

We went to bed early to prep for an early morning wake-up for sunrise at Arches National Park.

Southwest Road Trip

Journey from Colorado, To Utah, Arizona, and Back

Living across three different time zones from your best friends can be tough. Scheduling FaceTime dates, coordinating work schedules, and finding weekends where we are all free can be a challenge. Add in a global pandemic and travel restrictions and things become even tricker.

Luckily, this Labor Day Monica, Melissa, and I vowed to make a reunion happen. Given the covid state in all of our respective cities, we agreed that a trip out ~into the wild~ would be our best bet. We researched a number of different road-trip potentials to National Parks between Seattle, Denver, and Boston and finally landed on a perfect route, starting and ending in Denver.
